Nuts (including almonds) are a fantastic way to get healthy fats and protein into your diet while satisfying hunger- but be thoughtful, they’re high in calories. One ounce of almonds (about 22 grams) gives you 135 calories!
Eat them slowly, and give your body 10 minutes after munching before you eat anything else; heck, you may find your hunger satisfied with that little snack alone!
For extra flavor I like to curry mine. I buy dry roasted almonds, drop some in a small Ball jar and add some curry powder, salt and fresh ground pepper. Then drizzle a small amount of olive oil in, put the lid on and shake ’em up! After about twenty minutes the flavors meld together beautifully – delicious! These are always in my pantry for a quick snack. Enjoy! ~TH~
